WRITER'S HELP
One of the best things we can do for our kids is to teach them how to communicate well in writing.
Vitally important to every school and work environment, the ability to communicate with the written language is often overlooked. It is assumed that if you speak well, you should know how to communicate well, right?
Wrong!
Writing stories helps kids (and I mean teens here as well) to effectively express themselves and their thoughts. You can gauge an awful lot as a parent when reading your child's story. You get to really know what your child thinks of the world around them, people, friends, family members and scarily, You!
Here are some infographics below to help them get started. Don't know what to write about? The first story would be about the child and make him or her the hero. The next story would be about the child as a villain.
The best way to get your kids into writing is to do it yourself. Try using one of the above lines as a start for inspiration. You may surprise yourself- you could be the next best thing since Stephen King or R.L Stine.
A story need not be written in one sitting and remember, HAVE FUN.
